Pride says 'I'm greater than others', and envy says 'therefore I'm more deserving of the things other people have'. But we're also reminded in this chapter that these sins aren't just secret internal sins. If we allow pride and envy to creep into our lives it will lead to biting and devouring one another, which will destroy unity. We must protect against these taking root in our lives by keeping in step with the Spirit.
