Philippians 2:19-30 || Godly Examples

Rejoice - A Study of Philippians | In vs 15 of chapter 2 Paul says we live in a crooked and twisted generation, but amongst this generation we are to shine as lights. Beginning in vs 19 it feels like Paul then puts this thought on hold and tells the Philippians, “Oh, by the way, there’s been a change in plans.” But as one commentator said, in these verses, Paul “moves from instructions and imperatives to living illustrations.” Paul sets forth Timothy and Epaphroditus as examples of godliness and how to shine in this world. And at the end of this passage, he reminds us to '“receive them with joy and honor them”.

Hebrews 12:18-24 || Prayer to a Holy God

‘Reach, Build, Send’ Sermon Series || We exist to reach people with the gospel, build them as the church, and send them into the world for the glory of God. In this fifth and final message we turn to Hebrews 12 and are reminded of the incredible truth that God is unapproachable because of His holiness and our sinfulness, but because of Christ and His blood that speaks a better word, we are granted access to the Father. With this reminder, and using this text as the foundation, we draw near to God in prayer.

Exodus 19 || He Calls us to be Holy

Exodus (The God Who Renews) Series || In Exodus 3 God told Moses to return to Mt. Sinai to worship Him after He rescued the Israelites from Egypt. In Exodus 19 we find the Israelites trembling at the foot of the mountain as the LORD descended on it. Here in this chapter, and the second part of our Exodus series, we are reminded that God didn’t simply rescue Israel from slavery. He rescued them so that He might renew them. God rescues and redeems His people so that we can be holy as He is holy.
