2 Corinthians 4:7-12 || Jars of Clay
2 Corinthians 3-4 (Unveiled) Series || The Christians in Corinth were being swayed by false teachers proclaiming a false gospel of prosperity with no suffering. But, as Charles Spurgeon would say years later, “Mark then, Christian, Jesus does not suffer so as to exclude your suffering. He bears a cross, not that you may escape it, but that you may endure it. Christ exempts you from sin, but not from sorrow. Remember that, and expect to suffer.” In 2 Corinthians 4:7-12, Paul reminds the Corinthians, and all Christians, that we will suffer for the sake of the gospel, but Christ is King of our suffering, weakness, and death.
